The core program
The NEWSTART program — our front door
The Pearl Health Center is where the ministry begins. Doctor-led, food-first, and built around the eight simple things a body needs — done together, every day, until they feel normal again. For most guests, it's also the first time faith has felt like kindness rather than pressure.
What this addresses
From the first 10-day programs in 2012, we have watched people recover from diabetes, depression, heart disease, arthritis, back pain, obesity, and addictions — conditions the medicine cabinet manages but rarely reverses.
And in a region where few would ever accept an invitation to church, there's an even deeper need: a place where care is real, where questions of meaning are welcome, and where healing of the body opens the door to healing of the whole person.
What we do here
Guests stay ten or twenty-four days. A physician meets each person on arrival and sets an individual plan: meals, treatments, movement, and rest, adjusted as the days go on.
The framework is NEWSTART — eight plain ingredients of health that the whole day is built around.
Nutrition
Three plant-based meals a day, unhurried, at a shared table. Most of it grown on our own land.
Exercise
A guided walk every morning before the heat, plus movement suited to each body.
Water
Hydrotherapy and simple water treatments — one of the oldest tools we have, and still one of the best.
Sunlight
Time outdoors, on purpose, in a valley that gets three hundred days of it.
Temperance
A clean break from what harms — no alcohol, no tobacco, no screens at the table.
Air
Mountain air, open windows, and breathing you can actually feel.
Rest
Real sleep, real Sabbath, and permission to stop — often the hardest lesson of all.
Trust
A morning gathering for anyone who wants it, and time to think about the things that matter most.
What your gift funds here
The program only works because it isn't only for people who can pay. Gifts to the Health Center go to specific, countable things:
Every sponsored place is given quietly. Guests are never told who paid, and partners are never sent a name.

A sponsored bed is the most direct gift there is here. Tell us you're interested and we'll show you exactly how it works.
